Agenda Preparation
As you prepare for your Mentor/Mentee meetings, it is critical that you be intentional to ensure you both get out of the relationship exactly what you are seeking...

A few things to think about while preparing the agenda……
Who creates the agenda?
Mentees should draft an agenda. Preparing an agenda forces the mentee to carefully consider the importance of various topics. As a mentee, you are responsible for determining the topics to be discussed.
When should the agenda be prepared and shared?
Mentees should prepare the agenda 1 week in advance and share with mentor 2 or 3 days prior to meeting. This will allow the mentor to prepare for the issues that you would like to discuss. The agenda will help your mentor keep discussions on track and make best use of your valuable time together.
What topics should make up my agenda?
This will change over time and as you become more familiar. Initially, you will want to get to know each other, gain an understanding of why you are seeking to be mentored or to mentor, discuss your individual desired outcomes of this relationship. Eventually the Mentee will have key issues that they would like to discuss, review outcomes from past discussion, review mentor/mentee relationship and progress.
